On September 20th, 2016 HE for SHE http://www.heforshe.org/en will celebrate its 2nd birthday with festivities in New York City. Created in 2014 by UN WOMEN http://www.unwomen.org/en, HE for SHE gives a strong platform for spreading innovative ideas and taking positive actions to ensure worldwide gender equality. Gender equality is defined as the achievement of women and men sharing the same freedoms, economic rights and opportunities of choice across all sectors of society.
HE for SHE is headed by Political Scientist, Elizabeth Nyamayaro who presented her May 2015 TED TALK entitled, "An Invitation for Men Who Want a Better World for Women." to an inspired audience. It can be viewed in its entirety at this link:

Why should men and boys be educated about gender inequality and take action to support women and girls? It's simple. We are your daughters, wives, partners, girlfriends, sisters , aunts and mothers. We are half the world . We cannot end sexism, misogyny, bigotry and racism without empowering each other. We cannot change gender inequality alone.
